G&P Healthcare is an award winning nurse led home care company who achieved 'Outstanding' with CQC.

We are recruiting for a care assistant to join our team, to support our lovely and cheeky 16 year old client with complex health needs in the Wardley area of Gateshead.

We currently have a part time position available, shifts available are:

Term time: Monday-Friday 0800-1700, extra hours available at weekends when parents request care.

Term time: You will arrive at clients house and then escort him to school with another staff member. You will then support him at school alongside a school 1:1. Part of this role will be to support client alongside school staff for him to access hydrotherapy and rebound (trampoline). Also to push him in his wheelchair out on walks. We require staff willing and able to do this.

Non term time: You will support client in his own home. This will be discussed further at interview.

Previous experience caring for children with complex health needs is desirable but not essential as long as you are willing to learn from our nurses and able to keep calm in any emergency. But previous care experience is essential.

ESSENTIAL

  • Must have a min of 12 months recent care experience in the UK
  • Be willing to learn new skills to support complex conditions
  • Be patient and empathetic and an excellent communicator.
  • be able to follow care plans and risk assessments

We offer 24/7 support, training from nurses, monthly pay, free mandatory training and a very supportive company to work for.
