About Us

The Royal Victoria Hotel is a busy 104-bedroom hotel uniquely located at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) within Eryri National Park, set in 30 acres of private gardens and woodland in the beautiful village of Llanberis.

Our hotel features an AA Rosette restaurant, a popular dining and bar operation, and an award-winning wedding and events venue. Our team members are key to our success, and we are proud to employ many long-serving staff.

The Role

To provide a professional, efficient and friendly front-of-house service to all guests, ensuring a positive guest experience from arrival to departure. The Hotel Receptionist acts as the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in the smooth operation of our hotel.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome guests warmly on arrival and ensure a smooth check-in and check-out process

Handle reservations, cancellations, and amendments accurately

Respond to guest enquiries in person, by phone and via email

Provide information about hotel services, local attractions, and transport

Manage guest requests and resolve complaints promptly and professionally

Maintain an organised and presentable reception area at all times

Process payments, maintain accurate billing, and handle cash/card transactions securely

Operate the hotel management system efficiently

Coordinate room allocations and liaise with housekeeping to ensure room readiness

Work closely with housekeeping, bar, restaurant, and events teams to ensure seamless guest experiences

Assist with bookings and enquiries for the hotel’s bar, restaurant, and events/functions

Support event coordination by directing guests and providing relevant information

Maintain accurate guest records and comply with data protection standards

Prepare reports for management as required

Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations

Requirements

Previous experience in a customer-facing role (hospitality experience preferred)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Ability to multitask

Proficient in basic IT systems; experience with hotel booking systems is an advantage

Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

High level of reliability and punctuality

Due to the rural location of the workplace and shift times, access to a car or private transport is essential

Job Details
