Full job description
Construction Labour Supply BD Partner – Self-Employed
WorkerCo UK Ltd is building a serious construction labour supply business in the UK.
We supply construction workers, trades, labourers and site operatives to contractors, subcontractors and construction companies across the UK.
We are looking for a self-employed Business Development Partner who understands UK construction and knows how to open doors with contractors, subcontractors and site teams.
This is not a PAYE employee role.
This is a self-employed / freelance business development opportunity with strong commission potential.
For the right person, realistic earning potential is £40,000 to £100,000+ per year, depending on active clients, workers supplied, margins achieved and client payment.
The role
Your job is to win clients, build relationships and help grow active construction labour supply accounts.
You will not be expected to spend your day sourcing workers, chasing candidates or searching CVs.
WorkerCo handles the worker side: sourcing, vetting, Right to Work checks, trade cards, timesheets, payroll/CIS/PAYE process, invoicing and delivery support.
You focus on speaking with clients and winning business.
You may already have your own construction client contacts, or you may want to work from warm leads provided by WorkerCo.
Both can work.
WorkerCo can support you with:
- Warm leads from marketing, email and LinkedIn campaigns
- Company profile and rate card
- Worker sourcing and delivery support
- Back-office and admin support
- Timesheet and invoicing process
- Help with proposals and client follow-up
What you will be doing
- Speaking with UK construction contractors and subcontractors
- Contacting warm leads and potential clients by phone, email and LinkedIn
- Building relationships with site managers, contracts managers, project managers and directors
- Understanding labour requirements, start dates, locations, rates and project needs
- Discussing trades, labour, gangs, hourly rates, charge rates and margins
- Passing qualified requirements to WorkerCo’s delivery team
- Helping close new client accounts
- Supporting repeat business and long-term client relationships
This is not a 360 recruitment role.
WorkerCo supplies the workers and handles the delivery process. Your focus is business development and client relationships.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is confident, commercially minded and understands the UK construction sector.
Ideal background may include:
- Construction recruitment
- Trades & Labour recruitment
- Labour supply
- Construction sales
- Civils, groundworks, demolition, fit-out or site services
- Plant hire, scaffolding, temporary works or other construction services
- Business development into contractors or subcontractors
You should be comfortable speaking about construction roles, site requirements, hourly rates, charge rates and margins.
Knowledge of CSCS, CPCS, NPORS, CCDO, SSSTS or similar site cards would be very useful.
Strong spoken English and a confident phone manner are essential.
Commercial structure
This is a self-employed / freelance opportunity.
The pay range shown is realistic earning potential, not a guaranteed salary.
Commission is paid from paid gross profit / paid margin after the client has paid WorkerCo’s invoice.
A strong BD partner who builds active client accounts can create recurring commission from workers placed on site week after week.
For the right person, we may also consider an agreed weekly business development support payment, expenses support or draw against future commission. This would be agreed properly in writing and linked to clear business development activity.
Final commission percentage, payment terms, protected client accounts and any support payment will be agreed in writing before client activity begins.
Why this could be a strong opportunity
This may suit you if:
- You understand UK construction and labour supply
- You are good at speaking with contractors and site teams
- You want higher earning potential than a normal sales role
- You do not want to spend all day sourcing candidates
- You want a company behind you that can supply workers and handle delivery
- You want to build long-term recurring income from active construction accounts
- You are professional, realistic and commercially driven
How we work together
We want this to be a proper long-term commercial partnership.
WorkerCo will not take genuine client relationships introduced by the partner, and the partner will not bypass WorkerCo with WorkerCo clients, leads or workers.
We work under a simple written self-employed consultant / business development partner agreement so both sides are protected and the commercial structure is clear.
Final rates, client terms, worker supply commitments and formal contracts must be approved by WorkerCo before anything is agreed with a client.
Location
UK-wide / on the road / remote and field-based.
You do not need to attend a WorkerCo office. Meetings with contractors, subcontractors or site teams may be required where commercially useful.
How to apply
Please apply with a short note explaining your UK construction, recruitment, labour supply, construction sales or site services experience.
If you understand construction labour supply and know how to open doors with contractors, we would like to speak with you.
Pay: £40,000.00-£100,000.00 per year
Application question(s):
- Do you have experience in UK construction recruitment, labour supply, construction sales or site services?
- Are you comfortable with a self-employed / commission-based structure?
- Briefly describe the types of construction clients or site contacts you have dealt with before.
Work Location: On the road
