DENNBUILD LTD is recruiting experienced Groundworkers and 360 Excavator Operators from the Canvey Island and South Essex area to join our specialist segmental retaining wall installation teams.

We work on construction projects across the UK, installing large-scale segmental retaining wall systems for major housebuilders, groundworkers and civil engineering contractors.

This is a self-employed CIS position offering regular ongoing work for reliable and experienced operatives who are willing to work away from home when required.

The role

The work involves the installation of specialist segmental retaining wall systems on construction and civil engineering projects throughout the UK. Depending on your experience and role, duties may include:

  • Groundworks associated with retaining wall construction
  • Preparation of levelling pads and foundations
  • Drainage installation and placement of drainage stone
  • Installation of geogrid reinforcement
  • Laying segmental retaining wall blocks and capping units
  • Operating dumpers and rollers
  • Operating 360 excavators for excavation, backfilling and material handling
  • Working as part of a specialist installation gang

Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Previous groundworks experience
  • A valid CSCS card
  • A full UK driving licence
  • The ability and willingness to work away from home on projects across the UK
  • A reliable attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Additional requirements for plant operators:

  • Dumper and roller CPCS or NPORS tickets are preferred
  • 360 Excavator Operators must hold relevant CPCS or NPORS excavator certification

Experience installing segmental retaining walls, reinforced earth systems, geogrid, drainage or similar civil engineering systems would be beneficial but is not essential for experienced groundworkers willing to learn.
