Experienced Nepalese & Indian Chef – Join Our Team at RARA DINING

RARA DINING is seeking an experienced and passionate Nepalese and Indian cuisine specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years' experience in a similar role, with advanced culinary skills in preparing and cooking authentic curries and other regional dishes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a wide range of Nepalese and Indian dishes, from an à la carte menu to large-scale meals for groups, events, and private parties.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation while working in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
  • Consistently follow established recipes and kitchen procedures to ensure flavour, quality, and hygiene.
  • Adhere to all food hygiene, safety standards, and company kitchen policies.
  • Demonstrate strong multi-tasking abilities, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A minimum of three years' professional experience as a chef specializing in Nepalese and Indian cuisine.
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team.
  • High attention to detail and consistency in flavour and presentation.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement and growth.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and during events.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook high-quality Nepalese and Indian curry dishes in a fast-paced, high-pressure restaurant kitchen environment.
  • Maintain consistent cooking speed and flavour by blending in-house spices, preparing sauces, and using the appropriate balance of spices, herbs, and ingredients.
  • Cook dishes to order, including accommodating special dietary requirements as requested by customers.
  • Collaborate with management to establish food budgets, implement cost control measures, and plan special menus and cost-effective promotional ideas.
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities as assigned by the Head Chef, including supporting junior kitchen staff.
  • Ensure full compliance with food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Take care of all kitchen equipment through proper use and maintenance.
  • Manage portion control and implement strategies to reduce food wastage.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • A minimum of three years' experience in a similar cooking role within a commercial kitchen.
  • Proven supervisory experience in a culinary setting is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of Nepalese and Indian cuisines, particularly in curry preparation.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.

Pay: From £31,000.00 per year
