Join the Team – Driving the Future of Automotive Repair

Are you an experienced automotive technician ready to take your skills on the road? Our Client are looking for a Mobile Diagnostic Technician to support cutting-edge vehicle diagnostics, calibration, and repair across customer workshops in your region.

This is a dynamic, field-based role where no two days are the same. You’ll work with the latest OEM tools and technology, supported by a highly skilled remote technical team, to deliver expert diagnostics and solutions for modern vehicles.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Mobile Technician, you’ll be the go-to expert for workshops needing advanced diagnostic and calibration support. You will:

  • Visit customer workshops to diagnose, calibrate, and program vehicle systems
  • Perform pre- and post-repair diagnostic scans
  • Identify and resolve faults, error codes, and module issues (DTCs)
  • Carry out ADAS calibrations (cameras, radars) and recommend or perform minor wiring repairs
  • Use OEM diagnostic tools, workshop manuals, and advanced equipment
  • Collaborate with remote Repairify technical support to solve complex issues
  • Build strong relationships with customers and act as a trusted technical advisor
  • Manage your own schedule, prioritising jobs based on urgency and location
  • Produce clear reports and service documentation using ServiceM8 software
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate updates to your Mobile Operations Manager

What You’ll Be Equipped With

Training and Development

You’ll receive hands-on training at our North East training centre, working alongside experienced technicians and learning to use OEM dealer tools.

We also support continuous development through e-learning to keep you up to date with rapidly evolving automotive technology.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a dealership or aftermarket automotive repair environment
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills (mechanical & electrical)
  • Experience with OEM or aftermarket diagnostic tools
  • Knowledge of fault codes, modules, and vehicle systems
  • Experience with ADAS systems (mobile or workshop-based)
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office & web-based systems)

Required Certifications (or willingness to obtain within 6 months):

  • IMI AOM230 ADAS Calibration
  • IMI Level 2 & 3 in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Maintenance

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • OEM dealership experience
  • Strong customer service and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication and ability to explain technical issues clearly
  • A self-motivated, organised, and independent work style

  • Travelling between workshops in your region
  • Occasional overnight stays (expenses covered)
  • Performing road tests and dynamic calibrations
  • Working on a variety of vehicles, including cars, vans, and HGVs
  • Maintaining your company vehicle and equipment to high standards
