Clinical Team Leader

The Opportunity Abbott Healthcare Connections is part of the Abbott Toxicology Business Unit; we deliver Occupational Health services across the UK, helping customers/clients comply with health legislation and industry standards. We support them to manage the ongoing health of their employees and engage their workforce to improve and promote health and wellbeing.

Abbott Occupational Health provides a full range of services (managing health, safety and wellbeing) by both remote case management and onsite provision. We also provide access to our 20 medical centres across the UK.

We are currently looking for a Clinical Team Leader who will be:

  • Responsible for ensuring delivery of a full range of Occupational Health services
  • Managing a team of Occupational Health professionals based across the South of England. Ideal candidates’ locations: South of England

The role is a full-time position which combines home working and visiting both Medical Centres and customer sites across the region. In addition, there would be a requirement to attend Abbott Head Office (Abingdon) at times.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure delivery of professional care in accordance with NMC code of conduct.
  • Manage a regional Clinical Team to ensure operational KPIs are met, and that high quality clinical services are delivered.
  • Ensure training and coaching needs for the team are identified and delivered to improve quality and to meet professional and commercial objectives.
  • Audit clinical services, ensuring adherence to clinical governance protocols throughout the service delivery process.
  • Provide guidance on clinical governance processes and regulatory standards.
  • Play an active role in clinical procedural development including the development of new services.
  • Support the implementation of new customer contracts.
  • Support the achievement and maintenance of accreditations including SEQOHS, ISO accreditations, RISQS and LUL.
  • Conduct regular audit of medical results and case management reports, providing supportive feedback to improve individual performance.
  • Ensure effective communication lines with all associated departments to promote continuous improvement in the quality of the service.
  • Support and drive change to promote and maintain a consistent delivery of high quality service.
  • Deliver clinical services in both Medical Centres and on customer sites on a regular basis where required.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Current NMC registration.
  • Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health.
  • Part 3 of NMC Register desirable, however a broad range of Occupational Health experience welcomed.
  • Good written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and stakeholders.
  • The ability to oversee and manage a small team, Clinical leadership experience desirable.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong decision-making skills to resolve problems and provide solutions independently.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise reports.
  • Be competent in the use of computers including Microsoft and Excel software.
  • Demonstrate good current knowledge of OH service statutory and recommended practice and protocols, strong clinical background and knowledge.
  • Demonstrate good organisational skills.
  • Experience in adjusting priorities and allocation of resources.
  • Experience of collecting samples for drug and alcohol testing using chain of custody protocols desirable.
