Commis Chef – Owston Hall Hotel

Location: Owston, Doncaster
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Job Type: Full-time

Owston Hall Hotel is looking for an enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our growing kitchen team.

Set within 147 acres of parkland, Owston Hall is a busy country house hotel, restaurant, wedding venue and golf resort. With further investment and development underway across the estate, including our forthcoming Spa and Wellness Centre, this is an exciting time to join our team.

This role would suit someone beginning their career in a professional kitchen or an existing Commis Chef who wants to develop their skills and gain experience across restaurant service, weddings, functions and special events.

The role will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes
  • Supporting chefs across different sections of the kitchen
  • Following recipes, portion controls and presentation standards
  • Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
  • Ensuring food is stored, labelled and rotated correctly
  • Helping with deliveries and stock organisation
  • Working efficiently during busy services
  • Following all food safety, health and safety and allergen procedures

What we are looking for:

  • A genuine interest in food and a desire to build a career in hospitality
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Good organisation and attention to detail
  • The ability to work well as part of a team
  • Reliability and flexibility
  • Some previous kitchen experience or a relevant catering qualification would be helpful, but training can be provided
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays
