We deliver a broad range of vocational and higher-level courses to 2500 16–18-year-olds, 4000 adult students, 300 HE students and 950 apprentices at our London Road campus. 2100 A Level students are taught at our Welsh and English Bridge campuses in the centre of Shrewsbury. The college was inspected in March 2025 and judged to be ‘Outstanding’, with a ‘Strong’ contribution to skills. The college was recognised as a top 10 employer by The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026 and enjoys ‘outstanding’ financial health. We have enrolled a record number of students in 2026-27, and have secured £10m of government funding to support new capital projects to expand our construction and science facilities.
Please note that all advertised salaries are based on the current pay scale and are subject to the 2026-27 cost of living pay award, which is currently pending.
Salary: £63,762 - £66,145 p.a. 1.0 FTE. Full year. Permanent. London Road campus.
We are recruiting a Curriculum Director to join the college's Senior Curriculum Group and to manage around a quarter of the college’s technical and vocational courses.
The person appointed will be responsible for a portfolio of courses including extended diplomas, technical qualifications and T-Levels for 16-18 year olds; adult education courses; and higher education courses. The portfolio will be determined post-appointment to take account of the experience and knowledge of the successful candidate. The postholder will be required to teach up to 6 hours per week.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expect staff to share this commitment. As an employer we are also committed to promoting and protecting the physical, financial, social and mental health of all our staff. An enhanced DBS Check will be required for all the above posts, which are exempt from the rehabilitation of offenders act 1974 and related amendments. As an equal opportunities employer, Shrewsbury College welcomes applications from all sections of the community and is proud to be a Disability Confident employer. We actively encourage and support applications from disabled candidates. Where applicants meet the minimum criteria for the role, we will offer an interview whenever practicable in line with the terms of being a Disability Confident employer.
