We are now seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join our growing team. This is a highly visible role that will work directly with our Managing Director, Operations Team and Hotel Management teams to ensure compliance, drive best practice and create a positive health and safety culture across the Group.

About the Role

As Health & Safety Officer, you will be responsible for supporting all aspects of health, safety and compliance across our hotel portfolio. You'll work closely with property leadership teams, external consultants and regulatory bodies to ensure our hotels operate safely, legally and efficiently.

This is a varied role that combines auditing, compliance management, training, risk management and operational support. You'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact across the business and help develop a proactive safety culture throughout the Group.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct quarterly health and safety audits across all hotel properties and present findings to Senior Management.
• Ensure all hotels maintain robust Health & Safety, Food Safety, Fire Safety and Pool Safety policies and procedures.
• Monitor compliance documentation and certification to ensure records remain accurate and up to date.
• Work with hotel management teams to address actions arising from audits, inspections and risk assessments.
• Review and support site-specific risk assessments and compliance programmes.
• Oversee fire safety compliance and ensure actions from Fire Risk Assessments are completed within required timescales.
• Support Legionella management programmes, annual reviews and action planning.
• Review accidents and incidents, advising on investigations and preventative measures.
• Liaise with insurers, brokers and loss adjusters regarding claims and incidents.
• Maintain regulatory trackers including Environmental Health Officer (EHO) inspections and compliance scores.
• Support hotels with food safety, water safety, fire safety and general health & safety compliance.
• Provide guidance during emergencies and attend sites requiring urgent health & safety support.
• Coordinate health and safety meetings and support the Group Crisis Response Team.
• Produce regular reports and compliance updates for the Senior Management Team.
• Champion a positive safety culture by developing Health & Safety advocates across the business.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is practical, confident and passionate about creating safe working environments.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within hospitality, leisure, retail or a multi-site environment.
• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent qualification).
• Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
• Experience conducting audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with managers at all levels.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confidence managing multiple priorities across various locations.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between sites.
