An independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in central Scotland we are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our accountancy and tax department.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director and senior management team, duties include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and charitable organisations.
  • Preparation of corporate and personal tax returns.
  • Preparation and review of management accounts, cashflows and forecasts.
  • Assisting with the preparation and completion of company and charity audits.
  • Corresponding with various organisations on behalf of clients, including dealing with and responding to HMRC investigations
  • Dealing with client queries in a confident, professional and timely manner.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified through ICAS/ACCA or an equivalent qualification with a strong skillset in accounting and VAT compliance.
  • Previous experience of working within general practice is essential.
  • Experience of accountancy software such as Iris, Sage and Xero would be helpful although full training and support will be provided if required.
  • Audit experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Good Microsoft Office knowledge including Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise jobs is key.

The successful candidate will be reliable, hardworking, able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.

Pay: From £44,000.00 per year
