Are you an experienced finance leader looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a growing and diverse organisation?

We're partnering with a well-established and highly successful business in Somerset to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic organisation where you'll play a pivotal role in helping lead the finance function, partnering with senior stakeholders, and helping to drive commercial performance.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance department, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and the continued development of a high-performing finance team.

The Role

As Financial Controller, you'll combine strategic oversight with a hands-on approach, ensuring the finance function delivers accurate, timely information while supporting wider business objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, mentoring and developing the finance team.
  • Managing month-end and year-end reporting processes.
  • Maintaining and enhancing financial controls, systems and internal processes.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
  • Partnering with operational teams to provide commercial insight and financial guidance.
  • Contributing to business improvement projects and driving process efficiencies across the finance function.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Previous experience as a Financial Controller or within a similar senior finance leadership role.
  • Proven experience leading and developing finance teams.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, controls and accounting principles.
  • Experience managing month-end processes, payroll and financial compliance.
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen with the ability to influence stakeholders across the business.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
