Job Summary

Taylors Vehicle Repair Centre Ltd are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and supporting overall accounting functions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your accounting skills within a professional environment, contributing to the smooth financial operations of our organisation.

Duties

  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records using recognised accounting software such as Sage
  • Process and monitor accounts payable and receivable transactions
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is correctly recorded
  • Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review
  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits as required
  • Reconciliation of nominal ledger control accounts
  • Managing the VAT account, including filling of quarterly VAT return with HMRC through MTD on sage
  • - All aspects of credit control reconciling list of customer balances to the nominal ledger control account
  • - Running nominal ledger reports as required trial balances / P&L/BS

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
  • Proficiency in accounting software including Sage
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general ledger management
  • Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines effectively
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance are preferred but not essential
