Full job description
Job Title:
Quality and Standards.
Reports To:
The Quality and Standards team report to Melissa Hall, Head of Culture.
Job Overview:
To work within a small Quality & Standards team ensuring the work produced is consistent, high quality, matches the requirements of the client, is free of error and reflects the incredibly high standards expected of us.
“We expect that you will have some financial planning experience with some qualifications aiming for level 4.
The role involves checking reports/suitability letters/data harvest/SAP reports and TVCs carried out by the paraplanning team before being issued to clients. This involves checking work against initial adviser requests, illustrations, charges as well as making sure the information reads correctly and is accurate from a financial and grammatical perspective.
The candidate will require excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. A good knowledge of Word (in particular Word formatting) and Excel is essential and preferably some knowledge of financial packages such as Financial Express.
The candidate also needs to be flexible within their role and help out other departments when the need arises. The role can be quite pressurised during busy periods when the workloads are high.
We expect our team to have utmost integrity in all they do, and to carry an attitude of ownership in all issues they encounter.
We want a commercially aware individual who has a genuinely progressive way of thinking and above all else, we want you to have more pride in your attitude than in your qualifications.
In return, we offer a unique opportunity to work for one of the most innovative employers in the industry who actively promotes the ‘work to live not live to work’ ethos.
We actively encourage financial services qualifications and cover the cost of these on success.”
Managing your expectations
· Being responsible for quality and standards in financial services is a hard job. Doing the same job for an outsourced paraplanning business is even harder.
· The first 6 months can feel daunting as you adjust.
· As such, we operate a 6-month probationary period as we try to ease you into this unique working environment.
· Our clients have very different ways of doing things, so you will get exposure to a huge diversity of cases.
· We have very high standards with our clients, so we will encourage you to achieve or excel these standards.
· You will experience unusual cases and run of the mill cases.
· We expect you to take responsibility for your career and we will help you progress at whatever rate suits you best.
· We will pay for exams on success and will pay for appropriate training courses.
Initial Remuneration & Benefits:
Starting salaries are determined by a matrix that takes into account both experience and qualifications. Salaries are reviewed annually, but are not guaranteed to increase.
In addition, we provide:
o An auto enrolment pension, including contributions on your behalf.
o Private medical insurance.
o Death in service benefits.
o 238 hours FTE equivalent holiday (including bank holiday) each year.
o Your birthday (or a selected working day) as an additional holiday each year.
o Support with appropriate exams and training courses.
o A flexible working environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Reviewing the work produced by The Timebank:
o To ensure it is accurate.
o To ensure it is consistent.
o To ensure it is well presented.
· Feeding back to the people who have produced the work on areas for change in a developmental way.
· Looking at systematic changes that may be needed to improve the work we produce.
· Acting as a critical friend to our financial planners and advisers and our paraplanners.
· Maintain good communication and manage relationships with financial planners and advisers and our paraplanners.
· Collaborate with team members on any areas of development regarding the information obtained to allow financial plan to be created.
· Delegate to, educate and learn from other members of the team.
· Review product research produced by the team.
· Ensure we create clear, concise financial planning reports that are technically accurate and compliant.
