What really sets us apart is our team and culture. We’re ambitious, hard-working and forward-thinking, with a hands-on approach that keeps us growing fast — recently becoming the only business to feature in the Yorkshire Fastest 50 for five consecutive years.

We think big, push boundaries and consistently deliver industry-leading results, and we have fun doing it. We believe recruiting and keeping the best people is what makes us successful and pride ourselves in being a great place to work with a culture of growth, challenge and reward.

The Role

This is a position requiring confident communication, willingness to challenge the status quo and be challenged. You will have a minimum of 10 years' experience gained within a PR agency or as a comms professional working inhouse.

You will be responsible for developing, owning and delivering Outdo’s communications plan, while remaining hands-on in execution.

You’ll lead how the Outdo story is told internally and externally, setting direction, owning messaging and ensuring consistent delivery across all channels. This is a highly visible role and the go-to authority on positioning, narrative and brand storytelling across the business.

What You’ll Do

· Develop and deliver a communications plan that aligns to business goals, identifying the best ways to communicate the Outdo story to internal and external audiences.

· Identify the channels that will be most effective in engaging with those audiences and creating content that is optimised for each channel and inspiring others to develop great content, both written and visual.

· Become the go-to person for positioning and messaging across the business, providing practical guidance on communications to teams and confidently communicating ideas and recommendations at all levels, including board level.

· Engage with industry bodies and influencers, including press through PR, and awards entries, speaking opportunities and events.

· Manage how the brand assets are used in all communications, ensuring consistency and accuracy.

· Integrate the top of funnel brand building activities with the rest of the marketing funnel to ensure that campaigns and outreach are integrated and increasing effectiveness throughout the customer journey.

· Own brand metrics and reporting to demonstrate Outdo’s growth and impact.

The Nature of the Role

This is a new role following the successful rebrand of the business. It needs someone with an agile mindset, able to adapt to a business that is growing rapidly, and with demands from multiple stakeholders. You'll combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, setting the direction, but also executing, balancing planned work with fast-moving, reactive priorities and bringing a confident, detail-driven approach to everything you do.

You

You’ll be an energetic and highly organised communications professional with experience across internal and external comms, covering all channels. You’ll be confident writing for a range of audiences and channels and know how to craft clear, engaging and on-brand messaging that strengthens reputation and drives meaningful engagement.

Comfortable balancing reactive needs with planned activity, you bring strong attention to detail under pressure. You’ll feel confident engaging all levels across the business, and will have strong powers of persuasion and the courage to challenge. You’ll understand the importance of process but not at the expense of creativity, able to prioritise effectively while balancing responsiveness.

At Outdo, you’ll join a fast-moving team, where ideas are encouraged and your work has real visibility and impact. If you thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy challenge and want to shape how a growing brand communicates, this is the role for you.
