Are you someone who thrives on providing exceptional customer service with a smile? Do you have the patience, professionalism, and enthusiasm to be the welcoming face of a busy hospital? One Ashford Hospital, part of Phoenix Hospital Group, is looking for a friendly, approachable, and reliable Receptionist to join our administration team.

Reporting to the Administration Manager, the successful applicant will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff so a calm manner with excellent communication skills, and a genuine willingness to learn are essential. If you're someone who enjoys helping others, has a great telephone manner, and can keep things running smoothly even during busy periods, we want to hear from you!

The role will involve:

  • Using the computer system to confirm and amend patients registration details;
  • Admissions, discharges, charging and processing of patient payments;
  • Supporting the admin team when required;
  • Working collaboratively with other departments to deliver an outstanding service.

Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, occasional Saturday shifts as required.

Shifts: Rotational shift pattern between 06:30-20:00.

You will learn both the receptionists role and the administrative role as a key member of the administration team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum GCSE education or equivalent

Experience

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Two years relevant experience within a customer facing role preferably within a healthcare setting.

Skills

  • Demonstrable customer service skills and patient awareness
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexible attitude and approach to the role
  • Good computer skills, including Word and Excel
  • To be tactful, diplomatic and remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to work as a team member and at a fast pace

Desirables

  • Previous private healthcare experience
  • Previous reception/switchboard experience
