Overview
Fern Gardens Care Home is seeking a highly organised and proactive Administrator to support the smooth day-to-day running of the home. This is a varied and fast-paced role requiring strong administrative, financial, and communication skills, along with a genuine interest in working within a caring environment.
Job Title: Administrator
Location: In-Person
Job Type: Full-time
Reporting to: Home Manager
Hours: 37.5 - 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday (with occasional weekend work required to meet business needs)
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial and administrative records in line with company policies
- Prepare reports and ensure deadlines are met
- Process payments, invoices, and service user accounts
- Support and oversee payroll processes and staff attendance records
- Maintain and update Excel spreadsheets and internal systems (including Syncurio)
- Ensure Home Office compliance and accurate record keeping
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and personnel files
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers
- Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Home Manager
- Manage correspondence, filing systems, and document control
- Attend meetings and take minutes when required
- Promote a professional image of the Care Centre at all times
- Follow all Health & Safety, Safeguarding, and Infection Control procedures
Requirements
Essential:
- Proven administrative experience
- Strong numerical and IT skills (Word, Excel)
- Payroll knowledge or experience
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional, discreet, and reliable approach
- Genuine interest in a care environment
Desirable:
- Microsoft Outlook and accounting experience
- Care administration background
- Experience with systems such as Syncurio
Additional Information
- Subject to satisfactory background checks and PoVA clearance
- Flexibility may be required to meet service needs
- Please note: this role is not eligible for UK visa sponsorship
