Full job description

Fergusons Transport was originally founded in 1926 as a one-man operation and has grown into one of the largest privately owned hauliers in the North-East of England. The business has a long-standing history in transport, logistics, and warehousing.

Fergusons Blyth Limited provides administrative support to the transport company and is seeking a Payroll/HR Administrator to join the team in Cramlington, with a primary focus on payroll delivery and HR administration as a supporting function. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual who thrives on accuracy and ownership in a busy environment.

In this role, you will take full responsibility for the end-to-end monthly payroll process, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time. This includes processing overtime, allowances, deductions, and statutory payments, while maintaining full compliance with HMRC regulations, including RTI submissions, P45s, P60s, pension contributions, and National Minimum Wage requirements. Experience with Staffology HR and Payroll systems, or similar platforms, would be advantageous.

Alongside your core payroll responsibilities, you will provide HR administrative support. This will involve maintaining accurate employee records, updating systems with starters, leavers, contractual changes, and absence information, as well as producing reports, supporting managers with people data, and responding to employee queries in a professional and confidential manner.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in payroll administration, including end-to-end processing and a strong understanding of payroll legislation. You will be organised, accurate, and confident handling sensitive information, with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively across the business. HR administration experience is desirable as a secondary focus.

THE ROLE IS ADVERTISED WITH A SALARY FOR A FULL TIME POSITION. HOWEVER, WE WOULD CONSIDER APPLICATIONS FROM CANDIDATES INTERESTED IN PART-TIME WORKING OF A MINIMUM 30 HOURS PER WEEK, OVER FIVE DAYS.
