Bank Social Workers
Flexible, Values-Led Assignments with Nurtura Connect Ltd
Do you want more choice over the work you accept, the hours you offer and the difference you make?
Are you an experienced children’s social worker who wants to stay close to practice but work more autonomously?
Nurtura Connect Ltd is a specialist, social-work-led workforce solutions service supporting children’s services, families, providers and commissioners with safe, responsive and values-led support.
We are looking to connect with experienced, qualified social workers who want to undertake flexible independent assignments that make a real difference to children, young people and families.
At Nurtura, we understand social work because we come from social work. Our approach is grounded in safeguarding, relational practice, professional curiosity, transparency and doing the right thing for children.
What makes Nurtura different?
This is not generic agency work.
Nurtura has been developed by people who understand the reality of children’s services, the pressures on frontline teams, and the importance of safe, purposeful support at the right time.
We are building a network of skilled practitioners who want to work in a way that is flexible, ethical and professionally meaningful.
With Nurtura, you can:
choose assignments that fit your skills, availability and interests
offer the hours or days that work for you
support children and families without holding case responsibility
take responsibility for focused pieces of work, crisis response, commissioned assessments and direct intervention
work within clear role boundaries, referral information and oversight arrangements
be part of a values-led organisation that prioritises safety, quality and professional integrity
The role
As a bank Social Worker with Nurtura Connect Ltd, you may support a range of commissioned assignments involving children, young people and families.
This may include:
direct work with children and young people
time limited intervention with parents and families
welfare visits or statutory visits in behalf of the Local Authority, where appropriate and agreed
assessments
observation, recording and professional reporting
support around family networking, routines, boundaries and safety planning
crisis-response support
Nurtura social workers do not case hold and do not replace the statutory responsibilities of the local authority, placing authority or responsible commissioner.
We are looking for social workers who are:
Social Work England registered
experienced in children’s social care, safeguarding, family support or related practice
confident in professional recording and analysis
skilled in direct work with children and families
calm, reflective and relationship-based in their approach
able to work safely and proportionately within agreed assignment boundaries
reliable, professional and able to represent Nurtura’s values in practice
You may be thinking…
“I still love social work, but I want work that fits around my life, not the other way round.”
“I want to choose assignments where I know I can add value.”
If that sounds like you, Nurtura may be the right fit.
Why join Nurtura?
Nurtura Connect Ltd offers a more thoughtful way to engage in flexible social work practice. We want practitioners to feel clear about what they are being asked to do, confident in the boundaries of the assignment, and supported to deliver safe, high-quality work.
We are particularly interested in social workers who want to contribute to a growing, values-led service with safeguarding, quality and children’s voices at its centre.
Pay: £38.00-£46.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
