Position Title: Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our dynamic clinical team. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical care, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.

Working autonomously within your scope of practice, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care while supporting service development and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and long-term conditions.
  • Prescribe medications independently in accordance with current legislation and local guidelines.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic investigations.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans and provide health promotion advice.
  • Refer patients appropriately to secondary care and other services.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records.
  • Participate in audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support and mentor nursing and multidisciplinary colleagues.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent.
  • Independent Non-Medical Prescriber qualification.
  • Demonstrated competence in autonomous clinical assessment and decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience using electronic patient record systems such as EMIS Web
  • Significant post-registration experience in primary care, urgent care, or emergency settings
