Full job description

Do You Believe Every Young Person Deserves Someone Who Genuinely Cares?

We are looking for exceptional Key Workers who are passionate about helping young people develop the confidence, skills and resilience they need to achieve independence and positive futures.

This is not simply a support role. We are seeking dedicated professionals who understand the importance of building trusting relationships, setting high expectations, and helping young people work towards meaningful goals whilst ensuring their safety, wellbeing and personal development.

As an Ofsted-regulated Supported Accommodation Provider, we are committed to delivering outstanding, person-centred support that places the young person's voice, aspirations and individual needs at the heart of everything we do.

What We Are Looking For

We want Key Workers who:

  • Genuinely care about young people and their futures.
  • Can build professional, trusting and positive relationships.
  • Are flexible and adapt their approach to meet individual needs.
  • Believe in promoting independence rather than creating dependency.
  • Can challenge appropriately whilst remaining supportive.
  • Are emotionally intelligent, resilient and consistent.
  • Take ownership of their responsibilities and are accountable for outcomes.
  • Understand safeguarding and put young people's welfare first.
  • Are committed to helping young people achieve their goals and aspirations.
  • Can work collaboratively with social workers, personal advisers, education providers and other professionals.

The Role

As a Key Worker, you will:

  • Act as a positive role model for young people aged 16–18.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality person-centred support plans.
  • Deliver purposeful key work sessions linked directly to identified needs, risks, goals and outcomes.
  • Support young people with life skills including budgeting, cooking, tenancy readiness, education, employment and healthy relationships.
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, safety and positive decision-making.
  • Support young people to engage with education, training and employment opportunities.
  • Record high-quality, outcome-focused reports and key work sessions.
  • Participate in safeguarding processes and risk management planning.
  • Advocate for young people and ensure their voices are heard.
  • Help young people develop the confidence and skills required for successful independent living.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with young people, care leavers or vulnerable individuals.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire young people.
  • Competent written and recording skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends where required.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (desirable).

What Success Looks Like

Our Key Workers don't simply supervise young people.

They help young people:

  • Build confidence and self-belief.
  • Increase independence and life skills.
  • Improve emotional wellbeing.
  • Make safer choices.
  • Strengthen positive relationships.
  • Engage in education, employment and training.
  • Achieve personal goals and aspirations.

Most importantly, our Key Workers leave a lasting positive impact on the lives of young people.

Why Join Us?

  • A values-led organisation committed to excellence.
  • High-quality training and professional development.
  • Supportive leadership team.
  • Opportunities for progression.
  • The chance to genuinely change lives every day.

Our Commitment

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references and safer recruitment procedures in line with Ofsted requirements.

If you are passionate about helping young people thrive, achieve independence and create brighter futures, we would love to hear from you.
