You are probably working for a car/light commercial/motorhome/caravan dealership or independent workshop and you want more, want to feel valued as part of a successful team, where someone says "thank you" for your work.

We are a small, happy, independent caravan/motorhome workshop, started in 2012 we now help over 1,000 customers with their caravans, motorhomes and campervans.

As a result of customer loyalty and continued growth we are looking to strengthen our workshop team and currently seek a caravan/motorhome technician or a mechanical person who is willing to train for additional skills, to assist in our busy workshop. The successful candidate will enjoy a rewarding long-term career, with on going training, we want to deliver the best customer experience in the industry.

We are already trained and approved by industry brands including: AWS NCC, ALDE, AL-KO, Thetford, Dometic, Whale, Adria, MA-VE, AMPLO.
You are also trained or aspire to be at this level.
Ideally you already have experience in the Motorhome & Caravan industry or a similar environment. City & Guilds or NCC Qualifications are an advantage and the ideal candidate will be ACOP LPG registered and 230v electrical qualified. A full clean driving licence is also required for this position.

This role will also suit a Mobile Caravan Engineer, Workshop Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Mechanic or Mechanical Fitter who wishes to transfer to a warm, dry, clean, well lite workshop with free tea & coffee. If transferring in from another sector, you will be keen to gain the relevant qualifications within the Motorhome and Caravan industry through our company.

The role will include a wide variety of duties including:
Assisting the team by carrying out service and repair work to a high standard.
Habitation inspection and repairs.
Caravan full service.
LPG Gas, diagnosis, repairs, installation.
12v and 230v, diagnosis, repairs, installation.
Warranty, diagnosis, repairs.
Fresh water & waste, diagnosis, repairs, installation.
Fault diagnosis and repair to appliances, systems and equipment as needed.
Carpentry rebuilds and insurance repairs.
Re-sealing & damp repairs.
Accessory installation, Levelling, solar panels, motor movers, bike racks, awnings, reverse cameras and TV aerials, motorhome towbars, lithium batteries.
Estimating time and parts required to complete repairs.
Follow instructions and use initiative to overcome complications.
Use technology to record and report service items, faults, repairs correctly to ensure compliance and audit trail.
To promote and maintain good relations with customers, maintaining standards and the good image of the company.
To provide telephone & face-to-face technical support to customers when required.
Demonstrating completed works to customers.
To comply with all aspects of health and safety good practice.
Attend workshops and training as and when required.

You must hold a full, current, "clean" UK Driving license.
You must have your own hand tools.
Languages - must be fluent in English and be able to write competently.
IT - You must be able to use company systems / tablets / PC to capture data, report and communicate within the team, to suppliers and customers.
Excellent verbal communication skills - have the ability to convey information verbally to fellow team members and customers.

Ideally:
You have current or previous experience as a Habitation Technician within a caravan or motorhome dealership.
Preferably 3 years’ experience within the industry with the following:
LPG gas qualification (ACOPS) or alternative LPG gas certification.
12v & 230v Experience including fault finding.
City & guilds Service engineers’ qualification.
NCC Electrical Inspection & Test.
NCC LV/ELV Systems, Equipment & Circuits
Electrical 17th or 18th edition papers.

In the first instance we are looking for a fully skilled technician who can "hit the ground running".

However if you only have 80% of the above, and you are a friendly, confident and capable individual, who can deal with problems under pressure and remain professional at all times, we are open to applications from alternative sectors, who have the attitude and energy to transfer, and are multi skilled with experience in motor trade, engineering, plumbing, carpentry or electronics. In these cases training will be provided as necessary, however a lower rate of pay will be applicable until fully skilled.

Hours of work are full time. Flexibility will be required around busier times of the year.
The salary is negotiable depending on experience.

Package
We will offer an extremely competitive salary for the right candidate including a fair/rewarding workshop bonus scheme. Starting basic can be discussed depending on your qualifications, experience and skill level.

This role has a current OTE (opportunity to earn) £34,000/Yr.

Based on basic salary, bonus and overtime.
