About the role
At Balfour Beatty, we deliver critical infrastructure projects that shape everyday life. We’re looking for a skilled Underground Utilities Surveyor to join our Asset & Technology team, supporting projects across the UK.

You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality underground utility surveys across a variety of projects. Working as part of a specialist survey team, you’ll ensure that surveys are completed accurately, safely, and in line with industry standards and company procedures.

This role involves travel to sites across the UK, and regular overnight stays will be required to support project delivery.



What you'll be doing

  • Carrying out underground utility mapping surveys across UK sites
  • Using a range of survey techniques and equipment including GPR, EML, and Sonde
  • Delivering surveys to agreed deadlines and specifications
  • Producing accurate documentation in line with company standards
  • Supporting the wider Survey Services team where required
  • Ensuring full compliance with processes, procedures, and PAS128 standards
  • Maintaining a strong focus on health, safety, and Balfour Beatty’s Zero Harm approach


Who we're looking for

  • Proven experience in underground utility surveying and mapping
  • Strong knowledge of PAS128 and industry standards
  • Experience using equipment such as GPR, EML, Flexi Trace and Sonde
  • Proficiency in survey processing software (e.g. LSS, SCC, N4CE) and CAD
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage workloads effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
