ABOUT BOSWORTH INDEPENDENT SCHOOL

JOB OVERVIEW
Part time - 12 hours per week working Saturday & Sunday 11am - 2pm and 4pm - 7pm
Bosworth Independent School is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to support our food and beverage service across multiple areas including main café, and school dining hall.
We take great pride in delivering a first-class experience at Bosworth Independent School and this hands-on role is perfect for someone with strong customer service skills. Responsibilities include food preparation, venue setup, serving, and cleanup. This role requires cleanliness, reliability, strong teamwork, all in a fast-paced environment.
Please note, this is a weekend only role working a split shift. Hours: 11am - 2pm and 4pm-7pm Saturday and Sunday.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
To assist in producing meals at high volume, ensuring quality is maintained and value for money is achieved.
To ensure all students & staff are getting a varied and balanced diet in accordance with the Government legislation requirements (food policy in schools/boarding standards agency)
Main Café & Dining Hall Support
Assist with food service across breakfast, lunch, and supper periods, including plating, portion control, and allergen labelling.
Support daily operations in the main cafépreparing food, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring clean and professional service areas.
Follow service schedules and work as part of a flexible rota covering varied areas across the catering department.
General Duties
Ensure excellent customer service is delivered consistently to students, staff, guests, and the public.
Comply with all food hygiene, health and safety, allergen, and cleaning protocols, including HACCP and COSHH standards.
Support stock control, cleaning schedules, waste reduction, and food safety documentation.
Represent the catering team positively and uphold the school’s values of Excellence, Care, and Community in all aspects of your role.
Work across multiple service points as directed and as per rota.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Education & Training:
Good level of spoken and written English
Experience:
Previous experience in an educational/facilities environment
Ability to work using own initiative
Ability to work within timeframes
Strong awareness of hygiene and cleanliness.
