Full job description

We are looking to recruit a Plant/Site Operator for our on-farm Anaerobic Digestion plant in Kenninghall, Norfolk. The Operator will be responsible for the day to day running of the plant. We would be especially keen to speak with those from an agricultural background and who have experience carrying out first line maintenance, or anyone with experience in power generation.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out the day-to-day operations of the plant
  • Operating a telehandler to feed the plant and clear digestate away using a tractor and trailer
  • Completion of daily reports and inspection forms
  • Weekend work as part of an on-call rota
  • Learning how to use SCADA control systems to monitor the process
  • Carrying out planned & reactive maintenance of the plant, which will include working on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes etc
  • Responding to machine and system failures
  • Keeping the site clean and tidy
  • Ensuring adherence with all environmental and health & safety protocols
  • Other duties as required

The Right Person

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience on their CV:

  • Driving license
  • Telehandler ticket beneficial but not essential
  • Agricultural experience beneficial but not essential
  • Anaerobic Digestion experience beneficial but not essential
  • Power generation experience beneficial but not essential
  • Knowledge of SCADA an advantage
  • Good timekeeping and housekeeping
  • Tidy and legible completion of daily reports and inspection forms
  • Ability to evaluate information quickly, identify key issues and formulate conclusions based on sound, practical judgement, experience, and common sense.
  • Able to work independently and prioritise own workload.
  • Good understanding of safety management techniques, e.g., risk assessments, and ability to promote and develop a good Health and Safety culture within the company.
  • Duties and responsibilities are indicative and may vary as the post develops and evolves.
