Full-time permanent contract - 40 hrs per week, Monday - Friday

Salary range: £23,254.40 (age 18-20) to £27,227.20 (age 21 and over)

Are you seeking a fulfilling and rewarding career in equine care? If so, let us show you what’s possible.

Redwings is one of the largest horse welfare charities in the UK, where everything we do is for the love of the horse. Working for us means you can make a real difference in the lives of the horses in our care while being part of a supportive and progressive workplace.

You'll be genuinely passionate about horses, enjoy working in an outdoor environment throughout the year, and have tractor driving and general maintenance experience. Think you’d be a great fit? We’d love to hear from you!

What will you do?

  • Assist with daily routine tasks involving the operation of machinery, including muck sweeping, pad scraping and clearing shelters.
  • Help to clear plants and trees poisonous to our equines.
  • Maintain and carry out repairs to post and rail and electric fencing.
  • Ensure our horses have access to appropriate water, feed, and shelter, maintaining hygiene, and checking and cleaning paddocks.
  • Conduct visual health checks, administer prescribed medication, and assist in catching and holding nervous horses for the farrier and vet team.

What can we offer you?

  • A busy, supportive, team-working environment
  • Ongoing development through training and mentoring with opportunities for progression
  • Wellbeing support through our Employee Assistance Programme

What are we looking for from you?

  • Farm and land facilities experience (fences, hedges, shelters, roadways, water troughs etc)
  • Sound knowledge of equine care.
  • A sound knowledge of safe working practices
  • A full manual driving licence and tractor driving experience are essential

This role is subject to safer recruitment processes to ensure effective safeguarding of all those who come in to contact with our charity. The successful applicant for one of these sites will be required to have a DBS check in place before employment is confirmed.
