Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration and/or Air Conditioning Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, building, and repairing air conditioning systems in various settings. £35,000-£45,000 (paid door-to-door) plus over time & standby pay, depending on experience and qualifications.

Note: pay is reflective of qualifications and experience. Unqualified persons need not apply.

We are a growing Southwest-based commercial building facilities company, seeking a Refrigeration and/or Air conditioning engineer with high standards of workmanship to join our close-knit team.

Our current team of local professional multi-skilled engineers offer various services to maintain our customer's premises and equipment keeping our customer's businesses operational.

Service provisions include but are not limited to commercial and industrial installation and maintenance of air conditioning, catering, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical. In addition to small internal and external building works.

We provide same-day service, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The purpose of the role is to…

Act in the capacity of a mobile multi-skilled engineer carrying out reactive & proactive works in dynamic and fast-paced environments. While ensuring work is undertaken to the highest standard and in line with the client’s specifications.

The suitable candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience carrying out refrigeration and/or air conditioning (installation, fault finding and servicing), with attention to safety, pride in your workmanship and a willingness to learn new skills.

You will need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and interacting with clients and their representatives. The role requires daily travel throughout Devon and Cornwall, at the company’s expense. Candidates must be willing to work away on rare occasions and will report to the Plymouth office.

A good level of written and spoken English, Numeracy skills and computer literacy, a full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK is required.

Duties
- Conduct routine maintenance on refrigeration units and/or air conditioning systems
- Install new refrigeration/air conditioning units
- Interpret and work from technical drawings and schematics
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to diagnose and repair faults
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior engineers
- Carry out equipment repairs as needed

Requirements
- Proficiency in refrigeration/air conditioning system maintenance
- Ability to maintain and build refrigeration/air conditioning units
- Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings and schematics
- Strong mechanical knowledge for fault diagnosis and repair
- Leadership skills to guide junior engineers
- Experience in equipment repair within the refrigeration/air conditioning field

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday 6am-3pm (paid lunch break)
• 1 in 4 Week on-call rotation
• Overtime paid at time and a half after 9 hours per day

Qualifications:

Required - Full 'Clean' UK Driving License

The ideal candidate would have qualifications in one of the following areas:

• Refrigeration
• Air Conditioning/HVAC
