Full job description

Job Title: Installation Engineer

Reporting to: Installation Manager

Job Purpose: To install and commission Mitsubishi Electric and Daikin air conditioning systems, Ventilation and Heat Recovery Systems as issued by the design and estimation team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To maintain exemplary customer focused standards in communication, conduct and attitude in line with the company’s values and expectations.
  • To install & commission all types of commercial & domestic ‘split type’ AC systems as issued by the design and estimation team in the time allocated.
  • To install & commission all types of commercial VRF/VRV AC systems as issued by the design and estimation team in the time allocated.
  • To install & commission all types of commercial & domestic Ventilation & Heat Recovery systems as designed and issued by the design and estimation team in the time allocated.
  • To ensure all installations are completed to the highest standard, including the siting of indoor & outdoor units, all inter-connecting services (including brazing of copper pipe work) purging of pipe work, insulation and wiring, installation of associated ductwork, fittings, and grilles.
  • To carry out pressure testing with OFN and evacuation of the systems prior to charging with refrigerant, testing and commissioning.
  • Responsible for providing clients with an informed handover, ensuring the client is shown the controls, timers, and settings, whilst also providing basic recommendations for use.
  • To carry out general maintenance & servicing of air conditioning and ventilation equipment, when necessitated by the needs of the business.
  • To complete and submit all testing, commissioning paperwork to the office within 24 hours of completion.
  • To collect all data and label equipment with appropriate system numbers and company logo stickers in accordance with the F-Gas Regulations and to submit clear details to the Installations Workflow Coordinator and Administrator’ ensuring accurate customer records & handover documentation.
  • To take photographs of all installations which should be submitted with each handover job pack, to be used on social media if the client consents and deemed suitable.
  • Maintain your company vehicle, ensuring weekly checks are completed.
  • Ensure your company vehicle always kept in a clean and tidy condition, contains the necessary stock levels of fittings, parts, refrigerant & other gases required to successfully perform your duties as efficiently as possible.
  • Complete daily timesheet using -based software.
  • To identify when stores are running low of stock, to report to management or Workflow Coordinator Administrators for replenishment.
  • Communicate and liaise internally with all necessary departments using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
  • To always ensure collaboration with the rest of the Installation teams.
  • To ensure all company documents are filed and stored in line with GDPR rules and regulations.
  • Always represent the Company in a professional manner, promoting the Company at every given opportunity.
  • Work in a safe and controlled manor following all necessary internal health & safety processes and customer specific site requirements.
  • Be flexible and willing to undertake work required.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures and business ethic codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • NVQ level 2/3 in air conditioning and refrigeration.
  • F-Gas qualification for refrigerant handling.
  • Essential Electrics - Refrigeration electrics - Preferable
  • CSCS card.
  • IPAF-PASMA – Preferable.
  • Clean driving licence.
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise and multi-task, work well under pressure, problem solver, who can handle issues simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • A confident and flexible person who is willing to get the projects completed.
  • Must possess a good command of the English language and furthermore produce written communications that demonstrate this.
  • Must always have a clean and smart appearance.
  • Excellent time and workload managements skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate and liaise on many different levels, through the company and customers.
  • An individual who understands the importance of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Excellent administration, organisation, and clerical skills.
  • The ability at times to work independently and use own initiative.
  • Excellent team player, trustworthy, friendly, and approachable.
