Lead Air Conditioning Installation Engineer
Lead Air Conditioning Installation Engineer
Job details
Full job description
Great installations start with great engineers.
At Fair Oak Air Conditioning, we’re building a company that excellent engineers want to be part of.
Our ambition is to make Fair Oak a name recognised for quality, professionalism and people who take pride in their work. To do that, we need talented engineers who care about the finished job and the team around them.
We’re looking for an experienced installation engineer who wants to remain on the tools, lead projects and help develop the next generation of engineers.
You’ll have the responsibility to make decisions, the support to deliver and the opportunity to progress.
The role
This is a hands-on leadership position, with around four days a week spent installing and dedicated time for planning, project coordination and team development.
You’ll deliver residential and commercial installations, lead by example and help other engineers produce work you’re proud to put the Fair Oak name to.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking installations from project information through to commissioning and handover.
- Leading and supporting engineers on site.
- Planning labour, materials and equipment ahead of each job.
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship across your projects.
- Developing junior engineers through practical guidance and clear feedback.
- Working with our operations and office team to keep projects running smoothly.
- Communicating professionally with customers and other trades.
Who we’re looking for
You may already lead installations or a small team. You might be an experienced engineer who naturally takes charge, thinks ahead and helps others get the job done properly.
Either way, you’ll enjoy installing and want more responsibility for the work you deliver.
You’ll need:
- Strong residential and commercial air conditioning installation experience.
- Confidence delivering split and multi-split installations from start to finish.
- F-Gas certification and a full UK driving licence.
- A good understanding of drawings, installation planning and commissioning.
- The ability to organise projects and solve problems independently.
- The patience and confidence to help less experienced engineers develop.
VRF experience would be an advantage.
Trust, support and room to progress
We value good judgement, clear communication and taking ownership.
You’ll have real input into how your projects are delivered, with support from our Operations Manager and dedicated time to plan ahead.
We also respect the effort that goes into delivering a job properly. Flexibility should work both ways, and we want a working environment where people feel trusted, supported and recognised.
For someone who proves their ability to deliver projects and develop people, there is a genuine opportunity to progress towards Head of Installations.
What we offer
- £52,000–£62,000, depending on experience and capability.
- Company van and company credit card.
- Daily lunch allowance.
- Company pension.
- 28 days’ holiday, including bank holidays.
- Paid Christmas shutdown.
- Performance-based reward opportunities.
- Varied residential and commercial projects.
- Dedicated planning and team development time.
- The opportunity to help shape standards within the wider Fair Oak brand.
Full-time | Mobile role across Hampshire & the South Coast | Travelling directly to site
