Full job description

We are looking for a self-employed Air Conditioning Surveyor to visit potential clients interested in installing air conditioning in either a residential or a small commercial property. The vast majority of these are within the M25, and most are near tube stations or easily accessible via public transport.

Full training in air conditioning will be provided, but having a good general knowledge of buildings will be helpful in determining the feasibility of having an installation done. Having met the client and discussed their requirements you will then need to send us the information so that we can provide them with a quotation.

You will be required to contact the client to arrange a convenient day and time to attend site; therefore good organisational skills are essential. We pay £60 per survey plus travel expenses.

We are probably the best-known air conditioning company in London and have been in business for over 30 years. This role has arisen due to the continued expansion of the business. Our busy months are between March and October, but we still have a lot of work over the winter. Obviously, June, July and August are the busiest months, therefore, we will need you to work every weekday and a few Saturdays and not take holidays during this time.

We are looking for someone who is well-presented, polite, well-mannered, and knowledgeable to make a good impression on the client. This role would suit somebody perhaps heading towards retirement. Typical earnings are between £25-37k based on doing 3 to 4 surveys a day, 4 days a week. A survey takes between 20 minutes and an hour plus writing the specification up and sending it to us. The more surveys you do, the more you will earn, but we are interested in quality rather than quantity. We are a well-reputed company with high standards, so we expect nothing but the best.

You will need a car to get to surveys outside of the public transport network, although public transport is often a lot quicker in Central London. As a self-employed individual, you will be responsible for providing us with an invoice once a month, along with receipts for travel.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: £25,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

Work Location: On the road
