Full job description

We are looking for an experienced and fully qualified Electrician to join our growing team, working across both the renewable energy and air conditioning sides of the business.

This is a varied role suited to an electrician who is confident with fault-finding, testing and remedial works, as well as supporting new installations across Solar PV, battery storage, EV charging, heat pumps and air conditioning systems.

For the right person, this role also offers a genuine opportunity to develop towards a Qualified Supervisor (QS) position within the business. We are looking for someone who is willing to put the time into developing their technical knowledge, understanding our processes and taking greater responsibility as the company continues to grow.

The Role

Your day-to-day work will include:

  • Electrical remedial works across Solar PV, battery and renewable installations
  • Fault-finding and diagnosis of electrical issues
  • Testing, inspection and certification
  • Solar PV installation and remedial works
  • Battery storage installation and remedial works
  • EV charger installations
  • Electrical works associated with heat pump installations
  • Electrical works associated with air conditioning installations
  • Supporting our heat pump and air conditioning engineers with new installations
  • Consumer unit and protective device upgrades where required
  • Rectification of defects identified during surveys, inspections or technical visits
  • Completing all required testing, certification and installation documentation
  • Working closely with our technical and operations teams to ensure jobs are completed correctly and efficiently
  • Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and customer service

Essential Qualifications

Applicants must hold:

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent
  • JIB Gold Card
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification or equivalent
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Recognised Solar PV installation qualification
  • Recognised Battery Storage qualification
  • Recognised EV Charging installation qualification
  • Full UK driving licence

You should also have strong experience in fault-finding and remedial electrical work and be comfortable working independently when required.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is confident testing and diagnosing existing installations
  • Can work across a variety of domestic electrical systems
  • Is comfortable working across Solar PV, battery storage, EV charging, heat pumps and air conditioning
  • Communicates professionally with customers and colleagues
  • Keeps accurate records and completes certification correctly
  • Can take ownership of jobs from diagnosis through to completion
  • Wants to develop their career and take on additional technical responsibility

Experience with Solar PV, hybrid inverters, battery storage systems and EV chargers from a range of manufacturers would be particularly beneficial.

Experience working alongside heat pump and air conditioning engineers would also be advantageous, although the role does not require refrigerant work unless appropriately qualified.

This would suit someone who wants to progress beyond day-to-day installation work and become increasingly involved in technical standards, inspection, compliance and supporting the wider electrical team.

As the business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced electrician who can provide additional technical capability across our renewable energy and air conditioning divisions and help us maintain the standards we expect across new installations and remedial works.
