Experienced Air Conditioning Installer – Subcontractor

Company: Frost Air Conditioning
Location: Plymouth, Devon & surrounding areas
Position: Experienced Air Conditioning Installer – Subcontractor
Basis: Self-employed / subcontract

Frost Air Conditioning is looking for an experienced and reliable air conditioning engineer/installer to work with us on a subcontract basis as our workload continues to grow.

The majority of our work consists of domestic and light-commercial split and multi-split air conditioning installations across Devon and the South West.

The Role

You will be carrying out high-quality air conditioning installations, including:

  • Single-split installations
  • Multi-split systems
  • Wall-mounted indoor units
  • Occasional cassette and larger commercial systems
  • Copper pipework, insulation and trunking
  • Condensate drainage
  • Pressure testing with OFN
  • Vacuuming and commissioning
  • Electrical connections and isolators where competent/qualified
  • Fault finding where required
  • Completing commissioning and installation paperwork

We regularly install systems from Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Hitachi, Haier and Samsung.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have:

  • Current F-Gas certification
  • Proven experience installing split and multi-split air conditioning
  • Good understanding of pressure testing, evacuation and commissioning
  • High standard of pipework, trunking and finishing
  • Ability to work independently
  • Own tools and suitable transport
  • Public liability insurance
  • Good customer service skills
  • Reliable and professional approach
  • Ability to keep jobs clean and tidy

Electrical qualifications and experience with fault finding/service work would be an advantage.

Work Available

We can offer ongoing subcontract installation work, with jobs generally located around Exeter, Newton Abbot, Plymouth and the wider Devon area.

Most installations will already have been surveyed and quoted, with equipment and main materials arranged.

We're particularly interested in engineers who can take responsibility for an installation from start to finish without requiring supervision.

Rates

Competitive subcontract rates – dependent on experience and type of installation.

Rates can be agreed either as:

  • Day rate, or
  • Fixed price per installation

Additional rates can be agreed for larger multi-split and commercial installations.
