Full job description

We are currently recruiting for a Refrigeration Improver or Apprentice to join a growing business covering the North West.

This is a permanent opportunity to develop your career while working across a variety of commercial sites, supporting experienced engineers on the service, maintenance and repair of heavy commercial and CO₂ refrigeration systems. The business is committed to investing in its engineers, with training, career development and long-term progression for the right person.

The Role

  • Assisting engineers with planned preventative maintenance on commercial refrigeration systems
  • Supporting fault diagnosis and repairs to minimise customer downtime
  • Developing your skills servicing heavy commercial and CO₂ refrigeration equipment
  • Attending reactive maintenance and breakdown calls alongside experienced engineers
  • Working in line with industry regulations and health and safety standards
  • Building strong relationships with customers and presenting a professional image on site
  • Completing service reports and maintaining accurate documentation as you progress

Requirements

  • Some experience in refrigeration or air conditioning is ideal, but new starters with the right attitude will also be considered
  • Experience on commercial or CO₂ systems is desirable but not essential
  • F-Gas certification is desirable, or willingness to work towards it
  • Background in electrical or mechanical work is also beneficial
  • Strong willingness to learn and progress towards working independently
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
  • Reliable, with a good work ethic and the ability to work as part of a team
