The Opportunity

Our Base Maintenance teams perform some of the most technically complex work within Emirates Engineering. Working in our world-class hangars in Dubai, they are responsible for major maintenance inputs, structural inspections, aircraft modifications, cabin retrofit programmes, engine and landing gear changes, and aircraft delivery activities. Through these large-scale engineering projects, our teams play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and long-term performance of one of the world's largest and most advanced fleets.

As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer – Base Maintenance, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, defect rectification, and certification activities in accordance with regulatory requirements, manufacturer instructions, and company procedures.

In This Role You Will

  • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance activities, inspections, and defect rectification on Emirates aircraft.
  • Carry out aircraft maintenance and servicing tasks in compliance with approved maintenance data, manufacturer requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Certify maintenance activities within the scope of your approvals and licences, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, component replacement, and system rectification activities using approved maintenance procedures and documentation.
  • Support major maintenance inputs including A and C checks, aircraft modification programmes, cabin retrofit projects, aircraft deliveries, engine changes, landing gear changes, and structural inspections.
  • Ensure tooling, equipment, materials, spare parts, and associated maintenance activities are managed in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete all maintenance records, technical documentation, and reporting requirements accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Promote the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence while actively contributing to Emirates' safety culture.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineers, Supervisors, Planning teams, and operational stakeholders to ensure efficient maintenance delivery and aircraft availability.
  • Support the development, coaching, and performance management of assigned staff where applicable.
  • Attend recurrent training and technical development programmes to maintain qualifications, approvals, and regulatory compliance.

What You'll Bring

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Degree (12+3) in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Avionics, Electronic or Technical Engineering, or a recognised Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Licence.
  • Minimum 10 years of aircraft maintenance engineering experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as certifying staff.
  • Minimum of two aircraft type approvals, including at least one Emirates fleet type (A380, A350 or B777).
  • GCAA, UK CAA, or EASA licence (or eligibility for conversion) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation legislation, regulatory requirements, and aircraft maintenance practices within an international airline environment.
