Do you have some mechanical or electrical experience in an engineer role?

Are you looking for a role where you can grow as the business grows and become an integral part of the team?

If you answered yes to the questions above, we would love to hear from you. Our client is a growing security company in Oxford, who have a great opportunity for an experienced engineer either in mechanical or electrical disciplines, full training will be given for the right candidate.

This role is a full time, permanent role working in Oxford and the surrounding areas. You will have a fully expensed van and all power tools will be supplied. The hours are Monday to Friday with optional weekends if permitted by the business, you will also be part of the on-call rota for out of hours emergencies if the company are happy with your abilities, where you will receive an additional payment. You will be field based with access to the office in the Kidlington area.

Due to the nature of some of the work a DBS check will be carried out for the successful candidate.

To be successful in this role you will need to have great customer service, some relevant experience and excellent communications skills with the ability to effectively problem solve.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out inspections, testing and fault finding works on new and existing installations
  • Install new alarm systems
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment and fixtures using hand tools and power tools to include minor building work and making good
  • To diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdown and correct the problem
  • To support colleagues and aid their development by taking time to share knowledge and experience with them
  • Carry out work on multiple sites
  • Produce clear written reports on work carried out

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Have experience in a similar role
  • Ideally have experience of carrying out testing and inspection, reactive maintenance works and installation works
  • Knowledge of safe isolation practices and procedures with an excellent understanding of health & safety in the work place
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer focused with a desire to deliver at the highest level
  • To be able to work through faults and issues independently
  • Meticulous and detailed in approach and able to apply logical thought processes
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivating with the ability to work alone or in a team
  • Must have a clean driving license
