Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Fire Engineer Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team. We are leaders in the North East with an excellent reputation both with our customers and as an employer.

You will have proven expertise in commissioning Gent fire alarm equipment at all levels of complexity on existing large healthcare, commercial and local authority sites as well as sites under development.

An excellent understanding of the requirements of BS5839 and BAFE SP203-1 is essential.

Your ability to commission other leading manufacturers equipment, such as Advanced, Morley and Kentec is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Commission fire alarm systems in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning phase, ensuring adherence to design specifications and relevant British Standards and BAFE schemes.
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance documentation.
  • Provide training to enable development of colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in commissioning Gent fire alarms.
  • Ability to commission other brands of equipment including Advanced, Morley and Kentec.
  • A dedicated Fire Detection and Alarm regulated qualification OR a fire and security/electrotechnical/other regulated qualification that adequately covers working to BS 5839-1 (with appropriate evidence of this). This may be part of the requirements of an industry card such as an ECS FESS Systems Technician (Gold) card.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
