Full job description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Quality Assessor to join our Quality Assurance (QA) team on a part-time, self-employed, hybrid basis, ideal for an experienced electrical QA looking for flexible hours that fit around other commitments. This role suits someone who can comfortably review a high volume of certification per session without compromising on accuracy. A trial/training day, paid at £200.00, will take place at our office in Hertford before an offer is made.

In this role, you will review certification and reports for domestic and small commercial electrical installations completed by our engineers, assessing them against notes and photographic evidence recorded within our job management system. You'll work flexibly across part-time hours, with the pace and autonomy to manage your own caseload.

This position is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, a fast and efficient review process, and a strong understanding of electrical regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accuracy & Quality: Consistently ensuring reviewed certifications are accurate, complete, and fully compliant with BS 7671 and internal quality standards.
  • Productivity: Comfortably and confidently reviewing a high volume of certifications per session, maintaining both speed and accuracy.
  • Reviewing electrical certification (Electrical Installation Condition Reports, Electrical Installation Certificates, Electrical Minor Works Certificates and Domestic Fire Alarm Certificates) to ensure accuracy and compliance with the latest edition of BS 7671.
  • Ensuring safe working procedures in accordance with current health and safety regulations and all other relevant regulations.
  • Completing building control notifications.
  • Communicating with engineers and company Qualified Supervisors to resolve issues identified when reviewing certification.
  • Verifying that completed works meet client specifications and company standards by cross-referencing engineer notes, images, and certifications.
  • Ensuring all documentation is completed to a high standard and submitted correctly.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience reviewing high volumes of electrical certification at pace, without losing accuracy
  • Good knowledge of the electrical industry, including electrical and building regulations
  • Knowledge and understanding of the current requirements of BS 7671
  • Experience in, and knowledge of, the test and inspection process
  • Experience reviewing certification completed by others
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload across part-time hours
  • A 'team first' attitude
  • Good IT skills
  • Good organisation and planning skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Positive attitude and reliable time keeping

Why This Role Works for Part-Time QAs

  • Flexible, hybrid working, fit reviews around your schedule
  • High-volume caseload means consistent, steady work during the hours you choose
  • Self-employed structure gives you control over how and when you work
  • Supportive QA team and clear processes, so you can focus on what you do best
