Job Summary

Maximon Solutions Ltd – Wooburn Green, Buckinghamshire

Full-time, permanent – 37.5 hours per week

Maximon Solutions is an established communications company specialising in professional two-way radio, IP & CCTV systems. We are looking for a practical, reliable and technically minded Technician to join our team in Wooburn Green.

This is a varied, hands-on position working with professional communications equipment. Previous experience with two-way radio equipment would be an advantage, but is not essential, as product-specific training will be provided to someone with the right electronics or technical background.

The role

You will be responsible for preparing, testing, programming, maintaining and repairing equipment in our workshop and onsite with clients including:

  • Testing and fault-finding electronic equipment
  • Programming and configuring two-way radios and accessories
  • Preparing radio systems and equipment for customer hire and sale
  • Checking equipment carefully before it is dispatched to customers
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
  • Soldering and replacement of electronic components where required
  • Testing batteries, chargers, headsets and other accessories
  • Maintaining accurate workshop and equipment records
  • Assisting with the installation and commissioning of equipment when required
  • Ensuring equipment leaving the workshop is complete, correctly configured and fully operational
  • Visiting clients to install and maintain systems.

What we're looking for

You should have a practical technical background and be comfortable working with electronic or electrical equipment, whilst being presentable to suit this customer facing role.

Ideally, you will have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Electronics repair or servicing
  • Electrical/electronic fault finding
  • Two-way radio or RF communications
  • CCTV, alarms or other electronic systems
  • Telecommunications
  • Electronic assembly and testing
  • Soldering and PCB repair

Previous two-way radio experience is not essential.

More important to us is that you are reliable, methodical and take pride in getting things right. Attention to detail is particularly important because the equipment you prepare will be going directly to customers.

You should also have:

  • Good practical problem-solving skills
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Good general computer skills
  • The ability to follow procedures accurately
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a small team

A full UK driving licence is required.

What we offer

  • £28,000–£32,000 salary depending on experience
  • Company pension
  • 37.5-hour working week
  • 28 days' holiday
  • Full training on our radio products and systems
  • Varied, hands-on technical work
  • The ability to develop your knowledge of professional radio communications
  • The opportunity to be an important part of our friendly, well established small-business.

If you have a practical electronics background and enjoy diagnosing problems, repairing equipment and working with technology, we'd be very interested in hearing from you.

Please apply with your CV and a brief description of your relevant technical experience.
