The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for installation, maintenance, repair of all plant equipment and utilities throughout the site. Maintain accurate maintenance records. Good housekeeping and compliance with H&SE procedures. Maintain a PPM and asset register system


Role & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all maintenance activities, including contractors, and ensure safe working practices are followed.
  • Develop and maintain a robust planned preventive maintenance scheme to maximise plant availability.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of site services, i.e., electrical supply, boiler systems, cooling towers, compressed air, nitrogen generation, etc
  • Conduct site inspections and identify areas requiring improvements.
  • Represent the Engineering function during internal and external audits, eg BSI, EA, HSE, etc.
  • Hire, train, and develop the Engineering team.
  • Control and monitor inventory of spare parts.
  • Manage and maintain the department’s Integrated Management System documents
  • Be responsible for the upkeep of all maintenance records including statutory requirements, i.e., fire alarm and emergency lighting system, emergency showers, control of legionella, etc.
  • Be the Engineering representative for any major projects, including design, procurement, installation, commissioning and close-out.
  • Create and review risk assessments for existing processes and new plant modifications.
  • Schedule contractors for major engineering activities as required.
  • Be prepared to work in a flexible manner as and when the Company needs require.
  • Any other relevant duties as requested by Colleagues and Management.

Qualification and Experience required
  • Background in Mechanical or E&I
  • Technical understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • COMAH experience
  • Good communication and organisational skills for an efficient and smooth operation of the Engineering team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail, ensuring maintenance tasks are not overlooked and minor site problems do not become major site problem
  • Energetic, decisive with drive and determination.
  • Be prepared to work in a flexible manner as and when the Company and Business needs require. Undertake any task deemed reasonable that you are considered competent by the company to carry out.
  • Good understanding of functional safety expectations including safe systems of work e.g. MOC, PTW
  • PPM and asset register experience
