Job Title: Playground & Play Area Inspector
Location: Glasgow (travel across Scotland, Ireland & UK required)
Salary: £25,500 – £40,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and practical Playground & Play Area Inspector to join our growing team. The role involves inspecting parks, schools, play areas, skateparks, MUGAs, parkour sites, outdoor gyms, nurseries, community centres, and indoor play areas.

You will assess equipment, surfacing, access points, and site safety, identify hazards, and produce clear reports with recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine, operational, post-installation, and annual inspections (training provided).
  • Inspect play equipment, surfacing, barriers, entrances/exits, and ancillary items.
  • Complete risk assessments and record findings with photos.
  • Grade hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare professional, easy-to-read reports for clients.
  • Liaise with site managers, councils, and contractors.
  • Deliver presentations or staff training when required.
  • Keep up to date with industry standards and training.

Requirements

  • Degree level education preferred (Engineering / Sports & Recreation desirable).
  • Strong attention to detail and report-writing skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Based in Glasgow and willing to travel throughout Scotland, with occasional work in Ireland and elsewhere in the UK.
  • Physically fit and able to climb, crawl, and move through play units safely.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and at heights.
  • Available for occasional weekend work when required.
  • Willing to complete a PVG/PECS check if successful.
