This role supports Cencora's third-party logistics operations across Europe through our Alloga business.

We're now looking for a professional and dedicated Class 1 HGV Driver / Shunter to join our team in Derby.

The Role

As a Class 1 Driver / Shunter, you will be responsible for providing a safe, reliable and professional transport service, ensuring customer deliveries are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. You'll operate from our distribution centre at Derby Commercial Park, delivering to destinations across the UK while supporting on-site shunting activities.

Start times between 12:00 and 16:00

Hours

48 hours per week

Pay Rate

£16.98 - £22.59 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver goods safely, efficiently and on time, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.

  • Carry out shunting duties as required across the site.

  • Maintain regular communication with the Transport Office, reporting any delays or operational issues promptly.

  • Complete all delivery and transport documentation accurately, including proof of delivery and returns paperwork.

  • Conduct daily vehicle walkaround checks and ensure vehicles remain roadworthy, clean and compliant.

  • Adhere to all road traffic legislation, speed limits and company policies.

  • Ensure loads are secured safely and transported in line with operational and compliance requirements.

  • Report any incidents, risks, defects, accidents or temperature excursions immediately.

  • Maintain high standards of safety, compliance and professionalism at all times.

What We're Looking For

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' Class 1 (C+E) driving experience.

  • Previous shunting experience is desirable.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

Personal Attributes

  • Professional and presentable approach.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Flexible, reliable and committed team player.

Qualifications & Knowledge

  • Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence.

  • Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.

  • NVQ Level 2 (desirable).

  • Good understanding of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) requirements.
