Full job description

Capstone Foster Care have developed a Multi-disciplinary Assessment, Treatment and Therapy Service (MATTS) which provides assessment, consultation and treatment to children and young people looked after in our fostering services.

We are looking for an experienced Equine Therapist with a good understanding of the sensory world of the children, to work with children/adolescents and their carers. Team members are self employed and are commissioned to undertake specific pieces of assessment and intervention. Work is likely to include undertaking clinical support to the foster carers and to the professional network, as well as undertaking specialist assessment of the child or young person and offering direct intervention. Knowledge of interception and body awareness practices such as yoga or mindfulness would be welcomed and also knowledge and experience of working with children who have experienced sexual abuse.

The successful applicant will be subject to an Enhanced DBS.

Application question(s):

  • Do you have at least 2 years experience of working with foster carers and children / young people in care?
  • Are you familiar with complex childhood trauma recovery methods for example EMDR / CATT or other.
  • Do you have the ability to work dyadically with carers and or siblings also in care?
  • Do you have relevant training and experience with regards to PACE and DDP Level 2?

Experience:

  • equine therapy: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • professional membership (preferred)
