Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional grooming services to a variety of animals, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly environment where animal care and customer satisfaction are our top priorities. Applicants should have a genuine love for animals, excellent grooming skills, and the ability to handle pets with care and patience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping for different breeds and sizes of pets
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of animals during grooming procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of grooming tools and work area
  • Provide exceptional customer service by discussing grooming preferences with pet owners and offering advice on pet care
  • Monitor animals for any signs of health issues or distress during grooming sessions
  • Follow health and safety protocols at all times to prevent injury or illness to pets or staff
  • Keep detailed records of each pet’s grooming history and specific requirements

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds Level 2/3 Diploma in Dog Grooming.
  • Previous experience in veterinary care or animal grooming is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of animal behaviour and handling techniques
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, such as lifting larger animals or equipment
  • Compassionate attitude towards animals with patience and gentle handling skills
  • Organised with attention to detail in maintaining tools and work environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
