Homewood Grove is set in leafy countryside 1.5 miles to the west of Chertsey. Our residents live among fully manicured gardens with an outside terrace off the bar and bistro. There is direct convenient pedestrian access to the neighbouring Homewood Park which offers 23 hectares of nature trails and pathways suitable for wheelchairs.

Job Purpose

The Night Concierge will ensure the smooth-running of the site as a whole, delivering friendly and efficient customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere. The Night Concierge will also ensure that any customer requests are seen to in a timely manner by assisting with all aspect of providing care and support.

During your shift, you may be the lead emergency responder to any urgent situation, with support from other colleagues on duty at the time. You will be given full training as fire warden, first aid and pool responder and you will act as the lead in any given situation with support from other colleagues, management and our off-site emergency 24/7 call warden support centre.

There is no exact pattern to the shift, making for an interesting job, although there are specific tasks to be undertaken every shift, such as cleaning of certain communal areas, spa, gym and pool areas, monitoring security across site and supporting the care team.

The Night Concierge team operate between 8pm and 7am (four days on and four days off)

You will receive full H&S and Fire Evacuation training. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.

Duties and responsibilities

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Welcoming owners, guests and visitors to the village and handling enquiries and requests in a friendly and professional manner.
• First responder to any emergency (maintenance, health or security).
• Point of contact onsite with our warden system offsite call centre
• Escorting contractors or emergency services in event of incident
• Receiving deliveries
• Delivering mail and internal documents to apartments that do not use email
• Housekeeping duties: communal and spa area cleaning (dusting, vacuum cleaning and floor cleaning)
• Laundry
• Water flushing and apartment checks
• To complete low level administrative tasks as required within given deadlines e.g. emails and bookings
• To be responsible for security of the site and general operations duties
• Receive, act upon and provide a detailed handover to day concierge
• Respond to and report any incidents, accidents or near misses to Village Management
• Adhere to and maintain all Health and Safety procedures appropriate to the role
• Any other reasonable requests required by management.

Physical Job Requirements

• Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break.
• Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, carry and move items up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions. Ability to distinguish colour to perform job functions.
• Ability to hear and respond appropriately to facility commands

Working Hours

Average of 38.5 hours per week 4 days in, 4 days off with 11 hour shifts. Night Concierge team operate between 8pm to 7am. This position will involve working nights on both weekdays and weekends on a rota basis. Flexibility is key especially over holiday cover periods.
