Stratford Sports Club (SSC) is a leading multi-sport club in the West Midlands. It offers cricket, hockey, tennis, squash, snooker, fitness, wellbeing activities and a vibrant social environment. SSC is committed to increasing participation, improving health and wellbeing, strengthening community connections and providing opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy sport and community life.

The Opportunity: The Apprenticeship has been designed in line with the principles of the Coach Core programme to help a young person develop skills in community development, sports participation, volunteer management, events, administration, customer service and club operations to create a foundation for a career in sport or business management. The Apprentice will be supported by a structured programme of learning, mentoring and practical experience, to make a positive contribution to both Stratford Sports Club and the wider community.

Purpose of the Role: The Apprentice will work closely with the Head of Sports, volunteers, section committees and colleagues across the Club to help deliver community engagement, participation, wellbeing and volunteer initiatives across all sports and activities. Partnership & Outreach Support: Assist in developing sporting relationships with schools, colleges, local authorities, healthcare providers, charities and community organisation, attending meetings, networking events and community forums as appropriate, identifying opportunities for collaborative projects and local engagement.

Administration, Systems & Club Operations: Support the day-to-day administration of community programmes, events and Club activities, thereby gaining a thorough understanding of multi-sport Club administrative and operational functions, including familiarity with the MyClubHouse membership, booking and communication system. The Apprentice will support reception and customer service when required, respond to enquiries in a professional and welcoming manner, and assist with administrative tasks.

Financial Administration: The Apprentice will assist with processing and recording payments for memberships, events, programmes and activities, and invoice preparation, under appropriate supervision to develop an understanding of financial controls and procedures in a community sports club.

Marketing & Communications: The Apprentice will assist in promoting Club activities through social media, digital platforms and local media, and help gather photographs, testimonials and case studies to demonstrate programme impact.
