Full job description
The opportunity
You’ll be joining a leading training provider that is the approved apprenticeship supplier for three large national key accounts. These include two household-name retail brands and a major national leisure organisation, each with large workforces and locations across the UK.
These are well-established client partnerships with significant potential for further growth. Your job will be to grow these accounts across the South of England by building relationships at a local level and generating more apprenticeship starts.
You’ll get out and meet managers across the individual branches and sites within these organisations, becoming a familiar face and trusted apprenticeship contact. You’ll get to know their teams, understand their training needs and identify opportunities to upskill existing employees through apprenticeships.
The national partnerships are already there. Your opportunity is to build on them at a local level and maximise their apprenticeship potential across your region.
What will you be doing?
This is a really autonomous role where you’ll manage your own diary and plan your week around your client locations. You’ll be home-based, but you can expect to spend around three days per week out on the road, visiting individual branches and sites across the South of England.
A typical week will involve reaching out to managers at multiple locations within the three organisations, introducing yourself and booking meetings before getting out to visit them face-to-face. You’ll conduct Training Needs Analyses to understand their skills gaps and identify existing employees who could benefit from an apprenticeship.
You’ll also spend time speaking directly to employees, running presentations and information sessions to explain the apprenticeship opportunities available and how they could support their development.
Ultimately, you’ll be responsible for turning those relationships and opportunities into apprenticeship starts, while making sure managers across your region feel well supported and receive a great service from their apprenticeship provider.
You’ll manage your own pipeline and activity, support employers and learners through the onboarding journey and work towards individual apprenticeship start targets and KPIs.
Location- please read before applying
This is a home-based role with regular travel across the South of England.
Due to where the majority of your client locations will be, you must be based in London or the surrounding Home Counties (Hertfordshire, Essex, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire or Surrey), or within close proximity to these areas.
What experience do you need?
We’re looking for someone with at least 1 year’s experience working with employers within the apprenticeship sector.
Your experience could come from apprenticeship sales, employer engagement or account management, but you must have experience working directly with employers around apprenticeships.
You’ll also need:
- A good understanding of apprenticeships and Apprenticeship Levy funding
- Confidence approaching managers and developing new relationships
- Experience working towards targets and KPIs
- Strong employer relationship management skills
- Confidence conducting Training Needs Analyses
- The ability to present confidently to managers and groups of employees
- A proactive, organised approach and the ability to manage your own diary and territory
- A full UK driving licence and access to a car
- To be happy in an on-the-road role involving significant regional travel
What’s on offer?
- £31,000 basic salary
- £3,000 car allowance
- Business mileage paid on top
- Home-based working
- Autonomy to manage your own diary and region
- Opportunity to work with three major national employer partnerships
- Life Assurance and Income Protection
- Dental, optical and alternative health therapy reimbursement
- Employee discounts and recognition scheme
- CPD and ongoing training
- Company-wide socials
Interested?
If you know apprenticeships, love building relationships and want a role where you can get out, meet employers and make things happen, we’d love to hear from you.
