Poultry Farm Labourer (Layers) – Full Time

Location: Milton Damerel, Devon
Pay: £13.35 per hour (PAYE)
Hours: 06:00 – 15:00
Shift Pattern: 6 Days On / 2 Days Off (Rolling Rota)
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

About the Role

Oaklands Farm Eggs is currently recruiting Poultry Farm Labourers to join our busy layer farm based in Milton Damerel, Devon.

This is a full-time, hands-on position suited to individuals who enjoy practical, physical work and working in an agricultural environment. Full training will be provided, so previous poultry experience is beneficial but not essential.

Accommodation is available on site at a small cost. Shared accommodation is currently available, with accommodation for couples available by arrangement.

Please note that due to our rural location, applicants must have their own transport.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Caring for laying hens, including feeding, monitoring and handling birds
  • Maintaining high standards of bird welfare, hygiene and biosecurity
  • Cleaning poultry houses and equipment
  • Carrying out general farm duties
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Working at height when required
  • Following all Health & Safety and biosecurity procedures
  • Maintaining clean and tidy working areas

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be comfortable working around animals in a farm environment
  • Be reliable, hardworking and physically fit
  • Be able to stand for extended periods and climb steps and stairs
  • Have your own transport due to the rural location
  • Be aged 18 or over
  • Have the right to work in the UK

Please note that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.

Due to strict biosecurity regulations, applicants who keep any type of birds at home, including chickens, ducks, pigeons or other poultry, cannot be considered for this role.
