Overview
Join our dynamic team as an Accounts Apprentice and kick-start your career in financial services! This paid apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to develop essential accounting skills while gaining practical experience with leading accounting software and systems. You'll work closely with experienced finance professionals, supporting vital functions within the accounts department. Duties
- Assist with data entry tasks to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions across various platforms
- Help maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as Quickbooks, Xero, or Sage
- Collaborate with team members to reconcile accounts and prepare financial reports
- Learn to operate and navigate accounting systems like Digita and Excel
- Contribute to the organisation’s compliance efforts by ensuring documentation aligns with company policies and procedures
- Participate in audits by providing necessary documentation and support
- Prepare and file VAT returns and MTD for IT returns (where applicable) for staff
Skills
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Familiarity with popular accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks is highly desirable
- Experience or willingness to learn data entry techniques with attention to detail
- Knowledge of bank reconciliation procedures and financial documentation standards
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment
