Duties
- Assist experienced painters and decorators in preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking areas for painting or wallpapering
- Learn to apply paints, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment under supervision
- Support the setup and cleanup of work sites to ensure safety and efficiency throughout each project
- Help measure and cut materials such as wallpaper or protective coverings to fit designated areas
- Follow instructions carefully to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition, reporting any issues promptly
- Observe and learn proper techniques for surface preparation, painting, decorating, and finishing touches
Skills
- Valid driving license or willingness to obtain one to travel between job sites
- Basic understanding of construction painting techniques and safety procedures
- Proficiency in English for effective communication with team members and clients
- Strong communication skills to ask questions, follow instructions, and work collaboratively
- Eagerness to learn new skills and develop technical expertise in painting and decorating
- Ability to work outdoors or indoors in various weather conditions as needed
