Are you a dedicated, passionate horse person looking to join a top team of dressage & livery horses,

We’re looking for a new member of the team at AP Equestrian - we are a busy, friendly and professional yard based just 5 minutes from Junction 18 of the M4 (near Bath & Bristol), and we’re looking for a full-time apprentice groom to join us.

The role involves all usual yard duties, working with a lovely group of horses, alongside a supportive and experienced team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, takes pride in their work, and wants to be part of a well-run yard. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily care and maintenance of horses, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about animal care and interested in developing skills in animal husbandry.

Opportunity to bring own horse & receive ridden training as well as stable management skills. Gain a qualification with the government apprenticeship service whilst working.

Onsite living accommodation available.

Need to be able to work as part of a team & be a confident rider.

Duties

  • Grooming horses, including brushing, hoof cleaning, and bathing to maintain cleanliness and health
  • Assisting with feeding routines and monitoring horse behaviour for signs of illness or discomfort
  • Maintaining stables and surrounding areas, ensuring they are clean, safe, and organised
  • Assisting with the setup and dismantling of riding arenas or training areas
  • Handling tasks related to feed bags, bedding materials, or equestrian equipment.
  • Riding & Exercising of horses depending on level of riding competency.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in animal care and horse riding; training will be provided for specific duties
  • Strong commitment to animal welfare and safety standards
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and stand for extended periods
  • Candidates should be competent riders capable of riding, hacking and exercising fit competition horses.

Candidates should be organised, proactive, and eager to contribute to the overall wellbeing of our horses while maintaining high standards of care.

Accommodation available on site if needed.
